mixed feelings about the stay

helpful staffunusual odor
the staff seemed always ready to help making the stay as comfortable as possible.
the smell in the room was not great. at first, i thought it was the tatami but after other ryokans, i realized the odor was unusual and not normal at all (not what you want on vacation).

charming stay in traditional style

i appreciated the traditional design of the building, it was like a great introduction to local culture. the shared kitchen included coffee, tea, dishes, a microwave, a cooker and a kettle. free yukatas and ear plugs were available to guests.
The facility wasn't as clean as other hostels i have stayed in. other guests were not considerate. They made loud noises while packing late at night. the sleeping space felt cramped.

The ryokan offered laundry facilities. A wash and dry cycle each cost 100 yen. i was allowed to store my luggage before check-in and after check-out in a monitored room. the communal kitchen made preparing simple meals easy.
